Funeral services for Gomer Lamar Shumaker will be on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 11:00 AM. Bro. Jeff Davis will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Friday, August 18, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday, August 19, 2017, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Mr. Shumaker, 68, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 20, 1948 in Attala County, MS, to Gomer Jackson Shumaker and Lavelle Morehead Shumaker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting pool. He was a loving husband and father.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife of 28 years, Deanna Shumaker; daughter, Theresa Tate and husband Jay; sons, David Shumaker and wife, Wendi and Mark Shumaker and wife Wendy; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and sister-in-law, Dianna Beacham; along with host of loving family and wonderful friends.
