Graveside services for Glynn Edwin Boyd will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Union Primitive Baptist Church in Ruth, MS. Brookhaven Funeral Home will oversee arrangements.

Glynn, 76, of Ruth, MS, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. He was born in Tylertown, MS, on February 5, 1949, to Dewey F. Boyd and Jo Francis Nettles Boyd. He was raised in Ruth, MS, alongside his siblings, Mikall Boyd and Deloris Boyd Rhodus, on the family dairy farm.

He had a long career in the Jackson, MS, area as a meat cutter, managing meat departments in grocery stores throughout the area. In 1994, Glynn brought his family back to his hometown of Ruth, and in 1996, he opened Boyd's Deer Processing, which remains family-owned and operated to this day. Glynn was known to family, friends, and customers for always having a story to share and for his great sense of humor. When he wasn't working, he could often be found on a lake or pond, "wetting a line" and enjoying his favorite pastime—bass fishing.

Glynn was a devoted family man and was deeply proud of his wife, Elizabeth, for her many accomplishments, including the countless projects she undertook and her dedication to running Boyd's Deer Processing when he no longer could. He was extremely proud of each of his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren: Richard Boyd (Cole/Michelle and Cayla), Shanna and Chris Moulds (Breland), Richard Townsend (Abby), Sarah and Billy Reeves (Brittany and Bailey), and Thomas and Kaylie Boyd (Bo and Eliza Lane).
