Mrs. Gertrude Francis Hoffmann Sampson, 61, of Wesson, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on May 19, 1955 in Jersey City, NJ, to James Edward Hoffmann and Gertrude Francis Bogart. She enjoyed camping, needlepoint and listening to music. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Dottie Bomhard; and brothers, Dennis Hoffmann and Arthur Bomhard.

Survivors are her husband of 38 years, George A. Sampson; daughters, Theresa Hough and husband Michael, Christina Materazzi and Samantha Sampson; sons, Jeffrey A. Hoffmann and George Vanblarcom; 8 grandchildren; brother Jimmy Hoffmann, Jr. and a host of family and friends.

A family memorial service will be held a later date. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
