Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. George Preston Moak will be on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Eric Moak and Bro. Jedd Moak will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Monday, January 2, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

Mr. Moak, 91, of Summit, MS, passed to his Heavenly home on Friday, December 30, 2022. He was born on May 20, 1931, in Lincoln County, MS, to Thomas Andrew and Rachel Wallace Moak. Mr. Moak worked for Illinois Central Railroad and retired after 39 years. He was a member and deacon of Bethel Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Annie Pearl Adams; his parents; an infant son; brother, Vernon Moak; sister, Vivian Moak Hart; great-grandson, Arrington Michael Wilson; and grandson-in-law, Hank Moore.

He is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Dickie (Patricia) Moak of Bogue Chitto, MS, Earl (Jean) Moak of Bogue Chitto, MS, and Joel (Barbara) Moak of Wesson, MS; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Pam (Noland) Alexander of Summit, MS, and Stacey (Chuck) Davis of Bogue Chitto, MS; 14 grandchildren, Bridget (Bradley) Moak Cade, Adam (Renee) Moak, Lana (Michael) Moak Morris, Randi (Ryan) Richardson, Eric (Misty) Moak, Jodi (Jason) LeBlanc, Luke (Amanda) Moak, Todd (Katelyn) Davis, Bradi (Zac) Davis White, Dara Moak & Grant Williamson, Kaitlin (Justen) Moak Ashley, Jedd (Heather) Moak, Mattie (Sam) Alexander Marsalis, and Nikki Alexander Fuller; 23 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brent, and Brooke Cade, Elizabeth and Ethan Morris, Max and Jake Richardson, Malaine, Maddie, Austin, Alex, Brayton, and Brylee Moak, Bryce and Jon Bowen LeBlanc, Ardynn Wilson, Tripp and Ty Marsalis, Brody Moore, Luke White, Sadie Pearl and Sarah Helen Davis, Mallory Ashley; 1 brother, Tom (Willa) Moak; 5 sisters-in-law, Sue (Eugene) Adams Moak of Summit, MS, Rose Adams Sterling of Bogue Chitto, MS, Betty Sue Smith of Bogue Chitto, MS, Frances Blackwell Adams of Baton Rouge, LA, and Hilda Adams of Hattiesburg, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends and church family.
