Funeral services for Mr. George Ray Gardner will be on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto, MS. Rev. Stephen R. Gardner will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home also on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of the service at 11:00 AM.

Mr. Gardner, 90, of Tulsa, OK, passed from this life on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Tulsa, OK. He was born on September 18, 1926 in Bogue Chitto, MS, to Vernon Gardner and Lois Watson Gardner. He was a talented and an avid golfer and was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant son, and sister, Cindy Stringer.

Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Peggy Jean Hart Gardner; daughters, Victoria G. Wall, Amelia G. Spolec, and Stacy J. Vogt; brother, Robert Gardner; grandchildren, Glenn Vogt, Luke Vogt, Georgia Spolec, Amanda Spolec, and Clint Vogt; great grandchildren, Justin Hurston and Penelope Muhalhal; and a host of family and friends.
