Gary Charles Smith, born in Brookhaven, MS June 14, 1952, passed from this life on July 10, 2022, after an extended illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles E. and Veta Grace Godwin Smith, grandparents Frances Posey Smith and Edgar Smith, Jessie and Wroten Godwin, uncle Loyd E. Smith and cousin Glen Smith.

He is survived by his brother James Elliot Smith (Joann), sister Sharon Smith (Dale), aunt Laverne Smith, cousins Nancy Haag (Bill) and Elaine Gipson (Stan), nephew Shannon Smith and niece Leigh Hartsook and many friends.

Gary was a graduate of Loyd Star High School and Mississippi State University, class of 1974 with an Agriculture degree. He was a partner in A Personal Touch Florist and worked with other florists locally.

He was also a long time employee of Packard Electric.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date with interment in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Friendship Baptist Church building fund.
