Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Nell Parsons will be held at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Monday, March 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon until time of service at 1:00 PM.

Mrs. Eva Nell Parsons, 87, of Wesson, passed from this life at the Aspen of Brookhaven on March 1, 2024.  She was born on December 30, 1936 to John S. and Vickie Leggett. She enjoyed her family, friends, and church; she was an avid Scrabble player and loved crossword puzzles. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was much loved and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, James P. Parsons; her brothers, Johnnie Leggett, Harvey Leggett, Tommy Leggett, and Hugh Leggett; and one sister, Elsie Raye Herrington.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice Kay Swicegood (Jack) of Shreveport, Louisiana; her son, Johnny Carl Parsons (Carol) of Wesson; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Whittington of Independence, Louisiana.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of The Aspen of Brookhaven, Gentiva Hospice, and her sitter, Mary Lewis, for their love and care during her illness.
