Mrs. Eula "Merle" Buie, age 86, passed away on January 1, 2018 at Diversicare of Brookhaven.

Mrs. Merle was born on in Lincoln County, MS to Melton Brister and Tera Smith Brister. Merle married Prentiss Eugene Buie of Caseyville, MS on January 2, 1953 in Lincoln County.

She loved sitting under her Live Oak tree enjoying the outdoors, cooking, and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her heart.
She is survived by her daughter Daphne Smith and husband Brad; her 3 grandchildren, Alayna, Anna Grace, and Parker Smith; and 1 great-grandchild, Tucker Hood; her brothers, Paul Brister and wife Charlotte, and Barry Brister and wife Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Prentiss Buie; her parents; brothers, John Henry Brister, Rev. Sammy Brister, and Bill Brister.

Public Visitation for Mrs. Merle Buie will be held Thursday, 4th of January, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Brookhaven Funeral Home with services Thursday, January 4, 2018, at 4:00 PM with Rev. Jerrry Sullivan officiating.
