Funeral services for Ernestine Weathersby Elkins will be on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Ron Alexander will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Elkins, 80, of Lumberton, MS, passed from this life on Sunday, August 4, 2019, at Marion General Hospital in Columbia, MS. She was born on June 27, 1939, in Hazlehurst, MS, to Earnest L. Weathersby and Willie Esther Teasley Weathersby. She was a member of Baxterville Baptist Church; worked for many years as a secretary with MS Department of Environmental Quality, Deposit Guaranty Bank and Allstate Insurance; and enjoyed the outdoors especially gardening, growing flowers and listening to and performing music.. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents Earnest and Willie Esther Weathersby; brothers, Cecil Weathersby and Joseph (Jake) Weathersby; sisters, Effie Lee Case and Margie Shows.

Survivors are her husband Howard Elkins; children, Larry Martin (Betsy) and Cheryl Wilkerson (Tony); sisters, Inez Clark, Joy Reidie and JoAnn McCann; grandchildren, Dustin Wilkerson, Joshua Wilkerson, Skylar Wilkerson and Emily Martin; and great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
