Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Clara Gilbert will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Sylvarena Baptist Church in Wesson, MS at 11:30 AM with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Bro. Stuart Givens and Bro. Wayne Moak will officiate at the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Sylvarena Baptist Church on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 10:00 – 11:30 AM.

Mrs. Gilbert, 78, of Wesson, Mississippi, passed from this life on Friday, January 19, 2018 at home. She was born on September 23, 1939 in Hazlehurst, MS to Versie Lee and Helen Windom McCardle.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, memaw, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Justin Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Gilbert; her sons, Billy Wayne Mullen, and Anthony Lee (Tony) Mullen and wife Lisa; her daughters, Janice Smith and husband Tommy Joe, and Emma Janes and husband Frank; her step-daughters, Terri Lynn Burkes, Dee Thornton, Penny Jordan; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; her brother, V.L. McCardle; her sisters, Marvis Gregory, Rachel McCardle, Sue Granger, and Merle Hux; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chris McMullen, David Burkes, Cole Burkes, Chris Smith, Terry Henson, Earl Henson, and Kevin Cran.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sylvarena Baptist Church in Mrs. Emma's name.
