Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Lynne Burns will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 11 o'clock in the morning with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Brandon Lynch will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday morning, from 9:00 AM until service time.

Mrs. Burns, 96, of Bogue Chitto, MS passed away at her home on June 22, 2024. She was born on July 19, 1927 to Matt and Mattie Matthews Temple. Emma was strong and resilient; she found her strength in the Lord. She loved Him and loved her family and friends whom she faithfully and vigilantly prayed for daily. She also enjoyed baking and hosting family get togethers; she spent many hours sitting on her patio admiring the birds and her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, J.C. Burns, as well as two children - her son, Jimmy Burns, and her daughter, Billie Lynn Reeves; two sons-in-law, Rollin Copelan and Terry Pierson; and a great-granddaughter Miley Copelan.

Survivors include her children, Sharon Copelan, Glenda Bessonette and husband Jackie, and Penny Pierson; a son-in-law, Mickey Reeves; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
