Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Bland will be on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the Matthews Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Wesson, MS. Bro. Jerry Sullivan and Bro. Stuart Givens will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Bland, 85, of Wesson, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at her residence in Wesson, MS with her loving family by her side. She was born on January 8, 1933, in Meridian, MS, to Rasberry Minton and Louella Brewer Minton. Mrs. Bland was a member of Matthews Chapel Methodist Church and had been married to her husband for 49 years before he passed. She and her husband had been co-owners of Pete's Grocery Store. She also enjoyed collecting angels and crosses, as well as keeping up with community news. Mrs. Bland was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 49 years, Carl Ransom "Pete" Bland; brothers, Ray Minton, Ralph "Buddy" Minton, and Roland Minton; and sisters, Jenny Pearl Minton and Katie Lee Booth.

Survivors are her daughter, Diane Walker and husband Travis of Wesson, MS; 2 sons, David Wayne Bland of Byram, MS and Daniel Bland of Wesson, MS; 4 grandchildren, Dewayne Walker and wife Amy, Jason Walker and wife Tammy, Brandon Bland, and Briteny Bland; 5 great grandchildren, T. J. Walker, Adam Walker, Haliey Walker, Hartley Walker, and Hannah Barnett and husband Ross; 2 great great grandchildren, Braeliegh Barnett and Ellie Barnett; and a host of family and friends.
