Graveside services for Elaine Langford Maxwell will be on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the Rosehill Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Bro. Tim Rowan will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Maxwell, 99, of St. Catherine's Village in Madison, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was born on September 9, 1917, in Carthage, MS, to Clell and Florence Wiggins Langford. She spent her childhood in Brookhaven, MS, and graduated from Brookhaven High School. She married Houston Clark Maxwell in 1937. She lived several years in Houston, TX, and Lafayette, LA, before moving back to Brookhaven, MS. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven: worked as a dental assistant and in several fields as a salesperson; and was a talented artist, beautiful lady and a doting aunt.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 23 years, Clark; son, Milton Maxwell; 2 sisters; and 1 brother.
Survivors are her sister, Amelia Langford Martin of Houston, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Maxwell's name may be made to Living Services, PO Box 275, Madison, MS 39130 (a ministry which served her faithfully for 18 years).
