Funeral services for Mr. Earl Higdon Laird will be on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at rookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow in the Mount Zion Church of Christ Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Bro. Ronnie Lofton and Bro. Doug Kimble will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 10, 2020, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and will resume on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from 8:00 AM until time of the service at 10:00 AM.

Mr. Laird, 99, of Bogue Chitto, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at home with his loving family by his side.  He was born on April 22, 1921, in Brookhaven, MS, to Luther and Lillie Case Laird. He was a member of Mount Zion Church of Christ; worked for many years as a textile mill supervisor; and enjoyed gardening and story-telling. He was also a World War II veteran and a purple heart recipient. Mr. Laird was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Robert Earl Laird; and brothers, Homer and Harold Laird.

Survivors are his sons, Roger Dale Laird, Wilfred Laird, and Willie Laird; sister, Jewel Pickering; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
