Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Leggett Spencer, 83, a resident of Hazlehurst, MS, died December 4, 2013 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was a homemaker and member of Hazlehurst United Methodist Church. Mrs. Spencer was born July 5, 1930 in Lake Como (Jasper county), MS to the late Troy Lee Leggett and Hilma Holder Leggett.

Mrs. Spencer is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Earl Leggett and Charles Bennett Leggett and one sister, Virginia Lee Leggett.

Visitation will be held at Brookhaven Funeral Home, Natchez drive location, on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 6 at 11:00 am at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel, 894 Natchez drive. Burial will follow at Bogue Chitto cemetery, Bogue Chitto, MS.

Mrs. Spencer is survived by her husband, Sidney B. Spencer of Hazlehurst; two sons, Sidney B. Spencer, Jr. and his wife Dee; and Benjamin Troy Spencer, all of Clinton, MS; two daughters, Dorothy Cheryl Spencer of Brandon, MS; and Virginia "Nan" Bryant and her husband Ace of Hattiesburg, MS; one brother, Roger Dale Leggett and one sister, Betty Nell Bryant; nine grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
