Dorothy L. Allen, of Ruth, MS, passed from this life on Friday, June 28, 2024 at her residence. She was born on July 19, 1943 to J.B. Russell and Doris Prestridge Russell. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved to crochet. She retired from the Jayess Post Office where she worked 13 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. and Doris Russell; her husband Robert "Bob" Allen; grandson Ryan McCaffery Bateman; sister Janet Kirtfield(Jerry)  and sister-in-law Susan Crane.

Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Spinks and Nova York; son Jason Gunnell (Mauri); 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister Sara Nelson; and multiple nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
