Funeral services for Mr. Dewey R. Ward will be on Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto, MS at 2 PM, with graveside services and burial to be held at 2 PM in Greenville Cemetery in Greenville, GA on Sunday, September 18, 2016. McKibben Funeral Home of Hogansville, GA will be in charge of the arrangements for the graveside service. Bro. Floyd Higginbotham will be officiating the services on Sunday, with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto on Sunday, September 11, 2016, from 1 PM until the time of the service at 2 PM.

Mr. Ward, 87, passed from this life on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 1, 1929 in Manchester, GA, to Dewey R. Ward and Sarah Augusta Roberts Ward Richards. He was in insurance sales and was self employed in the printing industry. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a Mason. Mr. Ward was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS.

Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, Kathryn Joan Baker Ward; son, Dewey Rusty Ward; sisters, Anne Lawrence and Lois Ward.

Survivors are his wife Willie Cole Ward of Bogue Chitto, MS; daughter, Lydia Garner and husband Alan of Flowery Branch, GA; son, Douglas Randy Ward and wife Anne of Roswell, GA; sister Bobbie Baker and a host of family and friends.
