Graveside services for Danny Eugene Lea will be on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Heucks Retreat Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS, at 12:30 PM. Rev. Lande Johnson and Tillmon Bishop will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

Mr. Lea,78, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Friday, January 7,2022, at Baptist Medical Center.  He was born on November 11, 1943, in Brookhaven, MS to Denver Luke Lea and Moreta Haley Lea and stepson of Tawanda Lea. He was a member of Heucks Retreat Baptist Church.

Mr. Danny worked for Armstrong Rubber Company in Natchez, MS for 20 years. He went back to Copiah-Lincoln Community College to get certified in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. He worked for Perkins Ace Hardware for 13 years from which he retired in 2008.

Danny has spent his entire life at Heucks Retreat Baptist Church. He became a deacon in 1985. He was a member of the Cemetery Committee, was a faithful member of the choir, which he loved dearly, and also a member of the Heucks Retreat Quartet.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Moreta Lea; father, Denver Lea and step-mother, Tawanda Lea; and his grandparents Denver Lea Sr., Bessie Case Lea Rushing and husband C.W Rushing, and Walter and Theodosia Haley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 ½ years Linda Sue Burris Lea; daughters De'Ana Lea Derrick (Wesley) and Amanda Lea Case (Matt); son Sean E. Lea (Heaven); grandchildren Jordan Lea Derrick and Emily Derrick, Jakob Lea and Tucker Lea and Presley Case. Danny is also survived by a brother Clarence Wilton Lea and sister Barbara Jean Lea Campbell.
