Daniel Miller (D. M.) Hawkins, Jr. 88 of Brookhaven, MS, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burial the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 5-8 pm at Brookhaven Funeral Home Natchez Drive.

Mr. Miller was born on August 28, 1922 in Jefferson County to Daniel Miller Hawkins and Orah Young Hawkins.

He retired after 45 years from public relations with Southwest EPA. Mr. Miller was a veteran of WWII in the Army and a member of the Eastern Star and a Mason.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; Orah Young Hawkins and Daniel Miller Hawkins, Sr

Survivors Include: Wife: Jewell Tarver Hawkins of Brookhaven, Son: Miller Lee Hawkins of Brookhaven, Daughter: Diane Hawkins Friday, of Broken Arrow, Ok. Grandchildren: Amanda Sanders of Hazlehurst, Chad McGregor of Little Rock, Ark , Matthew Friday of Broken Arrow, Ok and a host of neices nephews and other relatives.
