Mr. Dallas Coon, 72, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Friday, March 19, 2021, at home with his loving family by his side.  He was born on January 18, 1949, in Tylertown, MS, to Charlie and Rosa Lee Coon. He was a member of Union Baptist Church; worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator in the oil field; and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Dallas was born in Tylertown, MS and grew up in the Ruth Community.  At the age of 18, he joined the army and fought in the Vietnam War.  He returned home to marry the love of his life, Betty, and they were married for 50 years.  He worked in the oil field and on pipelines for most of his life until he retired in 2005.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his dog, Susie Q.  He was a loving, caring man, who would do anything to help others.  And, above all, he was a Christian man who loved the LORD.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, Mary Coon, Ann Winborne, Grace Clark, and Christine Coon; brothers, J. C. coon, Jewel Coon, Charlie Coon, and Earl Coon.

Survivors are his wife, Betty; son, Dallas Dewayne Coon (Amanda); daughter, Patricia Jenkins (Anthony); son, Travis McNeese (Stacy); sister, Rose Hux (David); grandchildren, Andrea Jenkins, Steven Jenkins, Lizzy Coon, Cody McNeese, Haley McNeese, and Matt McNeese; great-grandchildren, Ja'Cameron Hall, and Ja'Darrius Hall; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Ricky Boyte, James Earl Howell, Tim King, Jeremy Harris, Chris Hux, and Donald Wayne Hux.  Honorary pallbearers are Ben Harris, Dewayne Coon, Steven Jenkins, Ja'Cameron and Ja'Darrius Hall, and Susie Q.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heart of Hospice, Union Baptist Church, Sta-Home Health and our loving friends and family.
