Funeral services for Mr. Claude B. Smith will be on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Brookhaven Seventh Day Adventist Church, Brookhaven, MS at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Summit, MS. Pastor Marcus Harden and Mr. Dean Snider will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Seventh Day Adventist Church on Sunday, January 6, 2019, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

Mr. Smith, 91, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at Country Brook Living Center with his loving wife by his side.  He was born on September 5, 1927 in Lincoln County, MS, to Jake and Viola Smith.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Myron Smith; his grandson, Preston Bennett Smith; his sisters, Tera Cockerhan, Lucille Williamson, Lois Boyd, Inez Russell, and Helen Boyd; and his brothers, J.W., Frank, Leroy, and Carey Smith.

Survivors are his wife of 27 years, Peggy Smith; his son, Stanley Smith (Ruby); his daughter, Claudia Salcedo (Carlos); his step-daughters, Vewanna Nations (Terry), Dephama Cody (Danny), and Yolanda Burt; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
