A visitation will take place at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Monday, August 7, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM, at which time funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will follow in the Red Star Church Cemetery.

Ms. Christine Hudson (Carnley/Callaway), of Walker, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the age of 82 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA.  She was born on July 19, 1941, in Leland, MS, to John Porter Hudson and Thelma Jane Stewart.  She worked in healthcare for 55+ years and retired from Ocshner Medical Center after 28 years of service and the declination of her health.  She was an avid reader and loved cooking, quilting and enjoyed keeping up with everyone on Facebook. Christine was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents John & Thelma, step mother Frances Hudson, two former husbands Orson Carnley Sr. & James Charles Callaway, long time companion James Jones, brothers Johnnie B. Stewart & John Patrick Hudson, and daughter in law Lisa Hurst Carnley.

She is survived by daughters Marijane Carnley Archibald and Angel Callaway Phenald; sons Orson Carnley Jr., Deron Carnley & Quade Carnley (Kimberly); grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda & Jared King, Sabrina Grantham & Chris Smith, Erica & Kenny Davis, Donovon & Niki Carnley, Brittany & Landon Paschall, Stephen & Angelina Carnley, Devin Carnley, Bolton Carnley, Josh Phenald & Sarah Phenald; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brothers David Foster (Annette), Charles Hudson (Barbara) and Frankie Porter Hudson; sister Janet Madden (Jimmy), a special son James Albert Jones, and a host of family and friends.
