Funeral services for Mr. Chester Hanks will be on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 12 PM with burial to follow in the Fair River Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Bro. Jim Manning will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at the same location on the same day on from 10 AM until time of the service at 12 PM.

Mr. Hanks, 83, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was born on June 26, 1933 in Crowley, LA to Bernice and Jennie Richard Hanks. He enjoyed gardening, traveling with his wife and friends, spending time with his family, and refinishing furniture. Mr. Hanks also served his country in the United States Navy and was active in the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Bertha Griffin; and brothers, George Hanks and Johnny Hanks.

Survivors are his wife, Evelyn Crane Hanks of Brookhaven, MS; daughter, Lisa Hanks Fokakis and husband Johnny of Hattiesburg, MS; son, Shane Hanks and wife Gina of Brookhaven, MS; grandchildren, Shawn Hanks (Kristen), Mallory Kennedy, Emily Hanks, April Fokakis, and Zoe Fokakis; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Alyssa, Kaylee, Braden, Jaslyn, Jace, Gavin, Robbie, and Grayson; his beloved cats; and a host of friends.
