Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Celas Wallace will be on Friday, September 9, 2016, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Brookhaven, MS at 11 AM, with burial to follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Bro. Wade Biggs will be officiating the services, with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Thursday, September 8, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and resume on Friday at the church from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Wallace, 86, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at King's Daughters Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 27, 1930 in Smithdale, MS, to Henry Thornton and Floya Matthews Thornton. She loved to cook and do anything that involved being outside. She loved her family, and especially being a part of any activity of her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband George Wallace; daughter, Susie Wallace Bass; son-in-law Bull Bass; sister, Nell Nettles; brother-in-law Joe Nettles; and brothers, J. R. Thornton and Roland Thornton.

Survivors are her son, Randy Wallace; granddaughter, Courtney Biggs and husband Nathan; great grandchildren, Lane Biggs, Anna Grace Biggs and Mallie Susanna Biggs; her "adopted" great grandchildren who she loved as her own, Andrew, Ben and Sarah Beth Lofton; sister-in-laws Audrey Thornton and Myrtle Thornton; and a host of family and friends.
