Mr. Cecil “Lavan” Furlow, 85, formerly of Martinsville, MS passed away on June 30, 2026, in Florence, Mississippi. Mr. Furlow was born on July 6, 1940, in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, to James Cecil and Eva Estelle Walker Furlow.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:30 AM, in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery (Brookhaven, Mississippi). Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lavan was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nancy Martha Furlow; his son, James Cecil Furlow; and his siblings, Robert Furlow, Ida Bell Cole-Porter, Margie Gardner, Bobbie Raines, Roy Furlow, and Pete Whittington, Jr.

He is survived by his son, Victor Boscareno; a granddaughter, Vanessa Maria Voss (husband, Joshua); a grandson, James Michael Furlow-Guercio (wife, Vanessa); and six great-grandchildren; along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
