Obituary

Funeral services for Mr. Carrol Smith (Short Sleeves) will be on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 12:00 PM with burial to follow in the Damascus Cemetery. Bro. Leland Smith will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday September 3, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

Mr. Carrol Smith, 85, of McCall Creek, MS, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 12, 1937, in Franklin County, MS, to Ernest and Winnie Smith. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a truck driver and logger. He enjoyed his dogs, chickens, goats and Nascar racing.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Mary Frances Smith; parents, Ernest and Winnie Smith; brother, Edgar Smith; and sister, Gladys Smith; son, Ernie Smith; and grandson, Corbitte Smith.

Survivors are his 2 daughters, Wendy Hall (Darryl) and Cindy Smith (Brian Barnett); 2 sons, Jeff Smith and Raymond Smith (Rena); 8 grandchildren, Jessie Aldridge, Dallas Aldridge, Katelynne Ferguson, Tyler Hall, Michael Littlejohn, Scott Ferguson, Cheyene Dickerson, and Jessica Smith; 7 great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Kyleigh, Noah, Kinley, Josiah, Hayeslee, and baby Morgan on the way; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers are Michael Littlejohn, Scott Ferguson, Mitchell Smith, Donald Smith, Keith Morgan, and Anthony Steele. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond Smith, Jeff Smith, Darryl Hall, and Brian Barnett.
