Bruce L. Ashley's Obituary
Memorial services for Bruce L. Ashley will be on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 2:00 PM. Bro. Matthew Gazaway will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Memorial gathering will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Sunday, February 26, 2017, from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.
Mr. Ashley, 61, of Bogue Chitto, MS, passed from this life on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Southwest MS Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS, with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 20, 1955, in Muskegon, MI, to Bobby and Joyce Willett Ashley. He was a member of Arlington Baptist Church; worked for many years as a police officer and correctional officer; and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Bobby and Joyce Willett Ashley; and brother, Bryan Ashley.
Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Janice Ballard Ashley; daughter, Shana Ashley Sasser and husband Jonathan of Bogue Chitto, MS; son, Brett Ashley and wife Jeannie of Bogue Chitto, MS; brother, Bart Ashley and wife Tammy of Troy, TN; grandchildren, Lauren Sasser, Joshua Sasser, Caleb Sasser, Anna Jo Sasser, Haleigh Ashley and Jase Ashley; and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Ashley's name may be made to: St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
