Mrs. Betty L. Bale, 90, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 14, 1928, in Wichita, Kansas, to Horace Murphy and Alta Reid King Murphy. She was a Christian by faith; worked for many years as a cook in the Brookhaven School System as well as Silvercross Nursing Home; and enjoyed reading and writing poems and stories. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Horace and Alta Reid Murphy; husband James Robert Bale; son, Billy Bale; grandchild Kylee McCord and brothers, Loy and Lee Murphy.

Survivors are her children, Loyette Richardson of Bogue Chitto, MS, Bobby Bale of Brookhaven, April Campbell (Henry) of TN, Maggie Bale of Brookhaven, MS, Ruth Koch of Parsonsfield, ME, Susan Bale of Brookhaven, MS, David Bale (Kim) of Crossville, TN; sister, Myrtice Hunter; daughter-in-law Patty Bale, 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
