Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Mae Parson Martin will be on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in the Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Bro. Vernon Parson will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Monday, June 5, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Martin, 83, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Friday, June 2, 2017, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 3, 1934 in Port Gibson, MS, to Ernest Richard Parson and Mary Savannah Jones Parson. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking, birds and gardening in her yard. She was a devoted homemaker and member of Union Hall Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS. Mrs. Martin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Dan A. Martin; son, Ernest McMahon Martin; grandchild Joseph Allen Martin; great-grandchild, Coby Mack Martin; sister, Mildred Smith; and brothers, Redus Parson, Connor Parson, Johnny Parson, Leon Parson, Troy Parson, Woodrow Parson, Willie Parson and Dale Curtis.

Survivors are her daughters, Shelia Darlene Martin of Brookhaven, MS and Mildred M. Allen; son, Dan Douglas Martin of Brookhaven, MS, all of Brookhaven, MS; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
