Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Archie Mixon will be on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Indian Springs Baptist Church in Petal, Mississippi at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Indian Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Charles Tweedy will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Monday, July 24, 2023, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. The family will also receive visitors for one hour prior to the funeral service at Indian Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday morning.

Mrs. Bernice Archie Mixon, 82, of Petal, MS, passed from this life on July 22, 2023, at her home.  She was born on March 31, 1941, in Perry County, MS, to Roy and Gurtha Corley Spiers. She was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church; worked for many years as a teacher; and enjoyed being a pastor's wife, traveling after retirement, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Darnell Archie; and by a brother, Roy "Buddy" Spiers.

Survivors include her children; Chris Archie (Nancy) of Atascocita, TX; Elizabeth Murphy (Kelsey) of Petal; and Deb Lewis (Kelton) of Petal; grandchildren, Peyton Archie, Michael Archie, Justin Archie, Anna Archie, Alezia Archie, Jordan Murphy, Gabriel Murphy, Andrew Lewis (Christa), Blaze Lewis (Shelby), and Slade Lewis; and three great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her husband Bill Felder Mixon and his children; Mitzi Murphy (Billy Wayne) of New Augusta, and Keith Mixon of Covington, LA; grandchildren, Kimberly Buie (Rex), Brandi Railey (Drew), Nate Mixon, and Erin "Honey" Mixon; and four great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind two brothers; Arlis Spiers and Ketty Spiers (Linda); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
