Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Joyce Smith will be on Friday, April 14, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Fair River Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS. Rev. David Fortenberry and Rev. Martin Hayden will be officiating the services. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Friday, April 14, 2017, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Joyce, 71, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 19, 1945 in Brookhaven, MS, to James Ray Allen and Sally Delaughter Allen. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking for family, spending time with her grandchildren, and shopping with her friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Ab & Addie Allen; her husband, Tommy Smith; her parents; her sisters, Virginia Ann Case and Shirley Ruth Case; and brother, Robert James "Bob" Allen.

Survivors are her daughter, Amy Labeth Smith Bowering and her husband Danny of Hattiesburg; grandchildren, Madison Grace Mitchell, Morgan Taylor Mitchell, Jackson Daniel Bowering; her brother, Kenneth Allen; and her sisters, Jane Jackson and Peggy King; along with a host of family and friends.
