Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Pearl Adams Moak will be on Friday, September 8, 2017, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS at 11 AM with burial to follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto, MS. Bro. Wayne Moak, Bro. Eric Moak, and Bro. Matt Gazaway will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Thursday, September 7, 2017, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of the service at 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Moak, 84, of Summit, MS, passed to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 8, 1933 in Lincoln County, MS, to Doc and Mattie Smith Adams. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a stay at home Mom who raised her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in a Godly way. Her table was always full of fresh vegetables. She never said a word about how many extra friends that her children brought home at suppertime. She always enjoyed the time on Sunday when all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren came to her house for lunch. She loved gardening. Her family and friends will dearly miss her. She was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto for more than 60 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; an infant son; 3 brothers, Red Adams, Buck Adams, Oscar Adams; 2 sisters, Evelyn Adams Hodges, and Dones Adams Smith; great grandson, Arrington Michael Wilson; and grandson-in-law, Hank Moore.

Survivors are her husband of 66 years, George Preston Moak; 3 sons and daughters- in- law, Dickie and Patricia Wallace Moak of Bogue Chitto, MS, Earl and Jean Crosby Moak of Bogue Chitto, MS, and Joel and Barbara Ward Moak of Wesson, MS; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Noland Alexander of Summit, MS, and Stacey and Chuck Davis of Bogue Chitto, MS; 14 grandchildren, Bradly and Bridget Moak Cade, Adam and Renee Moak, Michael and Lana Moak Morris, Ryan and Randi Moak Richardson, Eric and Misty Moak, Jason and Jodi Moak LeBlanc, Luke and Amanda Moak, Todd and Katelyn Davis, Bradi Davis, Dara Moak, Kaitlin Moak, Jedd and Heather Moak, Mattie Alexander Wilson, and Nikki Alexander Moore; 16 great grandchildren, Brandon, Brent, and Brooke Cade, Elizabeth and Ethan Morris, Max Richardson, Malaine, Maddie, Austin, Alex, Brayton, and Brylee Moak, Bryce and Jon Bowen LeBlanc, Ardynn Wilson, and Brody Moore; 2 brothers and wives, John and Hilda Adams of Petal, MS and Ed and Wanda Adams of Arkansas; 2 sisters and husbands, Eugene and Sue Adams Moak of Summit, MS, Rose Adams Sterling of Bogue Chitto, MS; 2 brothers-in-law and wives, Jerry and Betty Sue Smith of Wesson, MS and Tom and Willa Moak of Bogue Chitto, MS; 1 sister-in-law, Frances Blackwell Adams of Baton Rouge, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends and church family.
