Funeral services for Mrs. Aline Avants Porter will be on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Brookhaven Funeral Home in (894 Natchez Drive) Brookhaven, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Bogue Chitto, MS. Bro. Floyd Higginbotham will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be on Monday, April 22, 2019 also at Brookhaven Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Porter, 88, of Bogue Chitto, MS, passed from this life on Friday, April 19, 2019, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, MS with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 26, 1930 in Winnsboro, LA to Alonzo Avants and Lavenia Burns Avants. She was a long-time member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto, MS. Some of her favorite things in life was being a Cub Scout Leader, Acteens Leader, helping in AWANA and helping people in need. She was also a volunteer for Habitats For Humanity. Mrs. Porter was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Alonzo and Lavenia Avants; husband Billy D. Porter; son, Tony Porter; sisters, Myrtle Howard, Nell Smith and Jo Pearl Allen ; and brothers, Eston Avants, Tommie Lee Avants and James Avance.

Survivors are her daughters, Mona Lisa Fauver and husband Robert and Greta P. Richardson and husband Kevin; son, Dirk Porter all of Bogue Chitto, MS; daughter-in-law Annie Porter; grandchildren, Lee Porter, Will Fauver, Marley Porter and Josie Claire Thompson; great grandchildren, Belle, Ava Kate, Stella, Holden and Cooper; and a host of family and friends.
