Alice H.
Bowlin
June 14, 1939 – October 7, 2022
Alice H. Bowlin, 83, of Liberty, MS, formerly from Franklin County, MS was called to her eternal home after a lengthy illness on Friday, October 7, 2022 surrounded by her daughter Sharon and son-in-law John Shivers. She was greeted by her husband, Fairl and many of her fur babies waiting to welcome her. She was married to Fairl Bowlin for 59 years before he was called to his heavenly home. She was a Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Her life's fulfillment was to work as a Court Appointment Special Advocate (CASA) for many years and was awarded CASA volunteer of the year. She was the voice of neglected and abused children in a court environment that helped place them in a better home and living conditions. Alice was a gifted watercolor artist and loved to travel especially back to her childhood home in Vermont and New Jersey, which she called her happy place.
She leaves on earth a loving daughter and son-in-law in love (Sharon & John Shivers) of Liberty, MS, grandson Tyler Shivers (Lindsey) and great grandchildren of Florence, MS, brother Rick Hammarstrom (Renee) of Lena, MS and brother-in-law Barney Bowlin (Carol) of Sicily Island, LA and a host of nieces and nephews.
And a very special longtime friend Margaret Chatham of Meadville, MS that she loved so much.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated, and her ashes spread in the many places that she loved very much. A celebration of life will be held in Vermont at that time.
Please continue to pray for our family during this difficult time as we learn to live life without our beloved mother. She will forever be missed but not forgotten and will be in our hearts until the promise that God gives to reunite again. I know Mother and Daddy will be waiting to meet us all at our Heavenly Home that God has prepared for us.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in memory of Alice H. Bowlin to Southwest Mississippi Child Advocacy Center, P. O. Box 7283, McComb, MS 39649.
I leave you this poem and one thought. None of us know when our time on earth will be up, until then, live in the moment, love and laugh often, Honor God, love your family, be humble and kind. Say your prayers. Thank God for all his many blessings.
I Heard Your Voice in The Wind Today
I heard your voice in the wind today and I turned to see you face; The warmth of the wind caressed me as I stood silently in place.
I felt your touch in the sun today as its warmth filled the sky;
I closed my eyes for your embrace and my spirit soared high
I saw your eyes in the window pane as I watched the falling rain;
It seemed as each raindrop fell it quietly said your name.
I held you close in my heart today; it made me complete;
You may have died…..but you are not gone, you will always be part of me.
As long as the sun shines………
